In a world that constantly tries to define us—by our past, our failures, our appearance, or our success—God’s Word stands as the only truth about who we really are. If you are in Christ, your identity is secure, unshaken by circumstances or opinions. But do you believe it?
Too often, we live as if we are what the world tells us. We carry shame, fear, and insecurity, forgetting that the One who created us has already spoken over us. So what does God say about you?
Here’s a list of powerful truths from Scripture about who God says you are:
1. You Are a Child of God
“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!” — 1 John 3:1
You are not an orphan. You are not abandoned. You are a beloved child of the King, adopted into His family forever.
2. You Are Chosen
“You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit.” — John 15:16
God chose you—not because of what you’ve done, but because of His love. You are His.
3. You Are Forgiven
“In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace.” — Ephesians 1:7
Your past does not define you. Through Jesus, you are completely forgiven and made new.
4. You Are a New Creation
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” — 2 Corinthians 5:17
You are not who you used to be. The old is gone. In Christ, you have a fresh start, a new heart, and a new identity.
5. You Are Loved
“I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.” — Jeremiah 31:3
God’s love for you isn’t based on your performance. It is unshakable, unchanging, and eternal.
6. You Are More Than a Conqueror
“In all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.” — Romans 8:37
You don’t have to live in fear. In Christ, you already have victory over sin, fear, and anything the enemy throws at you.
7. You Are His Masterpiece
“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” — Ephesians 2:10
God doesn’t make mistakes. He created you on purpose, for a purpose.
8. You Are the Light of the World
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.” — Matthew 5:14
You are called to shine—to reflect Jesus in a dark world. Your life has eternal impact.
9. You Are a Temple of the Holy Spirit
“Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God?” — 1 Corinthians 6:19
God’s presence dwells in you. You are set apart for Him.
10. You Are Free
“So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” — John 8:36
You don’t have to live in chains—whether it’s fear, sin, or shame. Jesus has set you free. Walk in it.
Live Like It’s True
It’s one thing to know these truths. It’s another to believe them. To live them.
God has already spoken over you. The question is: Will you believe what He says, or will you listen to the world?
Stop carrying names He never gave you. You are not forgotten. You are not unworthy. You are not too broken.
You are chosen, loved, redeemed, and called. This is who God says you are. Now go live like it.
