In a world that constantly tells us that we need to have a plan, that we need to be in control, and that we need to have everything figured out, it’s refreshing to know that as Christians, our future is ultimately in God’s hands.
This is a liberating truth. It means that we can let go of our need to control everything and trust that God is in charge. It also means that we can be confident that His plan for our lives is good, even when we can’t see how.
So how do we trust God with our future? Here are a few tips:
- Surrender your plans and dreams to Him. This doesn’t mean that you can’t have goals or aspirations. It simply means that you’re willing to let go of them if God’s plan for your life is different.
- Trust in God’s sovereignty. God is the Creator of the universe and He knows everything. He knows what’s best for you, even when you don’t. So trust that He is orchestrating every detail of your life for your ultimate good.
- Embrace His timing. God’s timing is always perfect. He knows when the right time is for different things to happen in your life. So even if you don’t understand why things are happening the way they are, trust that God has a good plan.
- Seek His will. God wants to lead you in His will for your life. So pray and ask Him to show you His plan for you. Read the Bible and look for wisdom and guidance. And talk to godly people who can help you discern God’s will.
When you trust God with your future, you can be confident that He is leading you on the best path possible. You can also experience peace and joy knowing that your life is in His hands.
Here is a prayer that you can use to trust God with your future:
Dear God,
I surrender my future to you. I trust that you have a good plan for my life, even when I can’t see how. Help me to let go of my need to control everything and to trust in your sovereignty.
Lead me in your will, Lord. Show me what you want me to do and help me to obey you. I know that your plan for me is better than anything I could ever plan for myself.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
